2017: The Livery’s First Harvest Dinner – Warm Welcome from Faith Reney, Donna Gazelle, Barbara Sullivan and Sharon Parsons
Today, it is hard to imagine Sunapee Harbor without The Livery. Once at risk of being lost as it fell into disrepair, its future was uncertain. If not for the vision and determination of five dedicated Sunapee residents, the community might have lost an important piece of its history, meaningful identity and welcoming place to gather.
The Sunapee Heritage Alliance (SHA) proudly honors its five founding Board members—Donna Gazelle, Barbara Sullivan, Sharon Parsons, Mike Durfor, and Betsy Katz—whose passion and perseverance brought their vision of The Livery to life in 2015.
The SHA’s mission to preserve the architectural and cultural heritage of The Livery has greatly enriched the Sunapee community and visitors for over a decade. Today, its story continues to be told through programs, events, and gatherings that bring people together—creating shared experiences that will be cherished for generations to come and leaving a lasting imprint on the heart of the community.
This year, the three remaining original Board members—Donna Gazelle, Barbara Sullivan, and Sharon Parsons—along with Faith Reney, who joined the Board in 2016, are stepping down from the SHA Board of Directors. While they are closing their chapter of Board service, they will continue to serve as advisors and active members on various SHA committees. “While we are stepping down, The Livery and the SHA remain in capable hands,” the founders said. “We are confident that the new leadership will carry our mission forward with dedication to our vision and purpose.”
The SHA is proud to announce its new executive Board. Longtime Board member Muriel Bergeron will serve as Chairperson, carrying forward the organization’s mission while thoughtfully guiding it into its next chapter. “I am truly honored to serve as the next Chairperson of the SHA,” said Muriel. “I look forward to continuing the momentum with exciting new initiatives for the SHA and The Livery—ensuring that the entire community can continue to take pride in its history and its future.”
Carol Wallace has been named Vice Chairperson, with Maria Fair serving as Treasurer and Ann Bordeianu as Secretary. Rounding out the Board are Sandi Goss and new members George Chait, Roger Dik, Gerald Gehr, and Julie Love.
The SHA’s new leadership will build on its strong foundation, ensuring that Sunapee’s rich heritage continues to inspire, connect, and bring the community together for years to come.
